Everyone in the Cook Islands knows that 2015 marks 50 years of Self Government & CITC, the largest locally owned company in the Cook Islands, employing over 250 Cook Islanders decided it was time to celebrate.

As CITC is one of the oldest companies in the Cook Islands, operating for over 120 years, it has been a big part of the last 50 years & saw the celebrations as an opportunity to involve staff, Key suppliers & customers in a year-long celebration.

With the assistance of its many suppliers, CITC ran monthly promotions at each of its stores giving away thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes.

Monday January 5th saw the launch of 2 travel promotions giving away $10,000 worth of travel vouchers to go towards bringing families home for our constitution celebrations in July/August.  A Cerebos Greggs promotion was run at all CITC Stores which included CITC Food outlets, Liquor, Building & CITC Avarua. A second $5000 travel promotion sponsored by Pernod Ricard is being run at our Duty Free stores at the airport.

Each month saw a different major promotions launched within each of the stores & we encouraged all our customers to be a part of these.

General Manager, Gaye Whitta said “After 18 months in the planning it was fantastic to finally launch our campaign, see the banners flying & all staff in our new “Celebrating Cook Islands 50th” Polos. “
